Oh dearest Ike...

I tell ya...life is sure different in the eyes of a boy. I wanted to remember a few things of my little buddy, and what better way than to share with all of you. I've said many times before this guy doesn't believe a word his mother says. I have a few examples. He has a teddy bear (not the one pictured above) that has a football outfit on. He is constantly asking me to put the bear's cleats and helmet on him. Meaning Ike wants to wear the gear. Unfortunately they are too small, but we have to at least try and prove to him that he can't wear them.

He is also starting to pick out his own clothes. He has favorite pajamas, that if clean do NOT last in his drawer. He also has a few favorite shirts, anything with cars on it. He thought it would be fun to wear one car shirt as a shirt, and the other as his pants. He even tried to shove his little toes into the sleeves, and then pouted when I instructed him that wasn't a good idea. In the end, I won, but only because I'm bigger. Side note: he lays on the floor on his stomach, with his head resting on his crossed arms, and pretending to cry. This is the pout routine. It is really quite cute, but it CAN'T work its magic.

This post came to light when today he brought me Dani's Barbie convertible and wanted me to hitch a tractor wagon to it so it could pull. After I told him twice it doesn't work, he showed me exactly what he meant by trying to get it to stick himself. I proceeded to show him that it needed a hitch (by getting the tractor and pointing out the part) and the car didn't have one. He FINALLY believed me and was satisfied to have it pulled by the tractor.

I'm sure there are more instances to come that will prove my point even more that Ike doesn't trust a word I say, but for now I will just sit back and chuckle at these moments.

The bear in the picture above is Fuzzy...Mason's teddy bear that he was fiercely attached to as a child.

The other picture...Ike just wants to do anything the girls are doing. Dani was painting, so, Ike paints. It is fun!
