Ike turns 1!

I know this is late. I have an explanation...we moved and I packed up my cord that connects my camera to the computer. Weeks later I learned I have a slot in the laptop that reads memory cards!!

Since we were moving we didn't do an all out first birthday bash like we wanted. HOWEVER, we did take some time to celebrate. We had some good friends over to help us eat cake and pizza. A few days later we had a birthday lunch with the Hoffman side.

It is hard to believe we made it a year already. Time truly flies when you are busy having fun. But honestly I'm even more excited for the next year. I've never been a fan of the infancy stage. For Ike it didn't last that long. He sat up by 5 months, crawled by 6 1/2 and walked at 10 months. At 10 months and 1 day he learned to climb and I haven't had a chance to sit down since. I LOVE IT!! He has since been practicing his run which he is quite fast already. Also he thinks jumping is funny and has attempted to do that. He can throw and kind of catch a ball. He learned to kick a ball watching his sister's play soccer, and we are wondering if we have a budding athlete! His favorite book is NFL 123 Football. When we yell touchdown, he throws his hands up like a referee!!

Which leads me to my next topic. He is smart. He jabbers A LOT... but has not picked up on any specific words. His most common jabbers are mama, baba, and dada. Although he can't communicate verbally, he has mastered other ways. He learned as soon as the snow melted the joys of being outside. That was the first thing he learned to ask for. He points to the door, jabbers something to me, then walks over to it and says something again. When asked if he wants to go outside he laughs, claps and most recently nobs 'yes'. When he needs a drink he goes to the fridge points at it and then jabbers. It is really cute.

Ike loves to have fun. I've caught him playing with dolls just to be included with his sisters. He likes his hair done but only after his sisters have theirs done. He is sweet boy and really likes his mom. He snuggles and gives me a hug after I whisper 'I love you'. He gives high five, and enjoys wrestling. It has been such a joy to have him part of our family.

He loves music. Dynamite by Taio Cruz is his favorite song. He gets excited when it comes on. I wasn't able to catch his little giggle but he bobs his head for the whole song!

So cute! He's a doll. I too love the toddler way more than the infant stage. I think its the whole interaction thing.
