Courage for surgery

This year (2011) has been a little hard on Allie's throat. She has had three positive strep tests since the end of February and five positive tests in the last 10 months. So we were referred to an ENT and they recommended we remove her tonsils and adenoids. The day we saw the ENT doctor she was overly shy and she told me she was nervous about this procedure. She asked her father for a blessing that night when we got home which cured her nerves. After watching a video the hospital sent Mason thought his little girl needed a special horse to help her through the part where her parents couldn't go...the O.R.

So Courage was picked and sent to her. I'm so excited that I caught her excited face on camera!!

Dani, Allie and Courage the night before the surgery. Another momentous event occurred....Allie had another loose tooth (#4 to be exact). Knowing we would have to pull it sometime this week we pulled it before surgery to spare some pain. Courage aided in the task and Allie didn't even cry. Allie was so cute telling the nurses how her horse 'Courage' could help her when she lost her tooth. She also made a point to tell every nurse, doctor, anesthesiologist, volunteer, that the tooth fairy didn't make it to her house the night before. The tooth fairy her mother knows just plain forgot!

Getting ready for surgery.

We had a great nurse that arranged a cap to fit Courage.

Dani has been so concerned. After one of Allie's naps Mason found these two snuggled up talking about Allie's surgery. It was really a sweet moment.

those tiny gowns are cute but it sure is not fun to see your little one in one. I am glad she is doing better.
