Who is this guy?

Although I support Mason 100% for being in school, the one draw back is he isn't around very much. This semester has been easier in terms of class load and homework. He is only taking 12 credit hours. From what he says, one class is mostly a review for a class he had last semester and another class doesn't have homework outside the classroom. He starts classes most days at 8 am and is done by 1pm. Some would think how wonderful, but in his program he then has clinical hours. Mon-Thur. until about 6pm. Friday afternoon and weekends he is off to menards to bring home a little money. Now I'm not doing this post to brag about how busy and wonderful my husband is...because KNOW he does get a chance for some fun!

Some guys that he works with put together a video game (x-box and playstation3) football league, with official rules and everything. side note: I just shake my head and keep quiet :) Anyway, once a week they meet at one of the guy's house to battle out the teams. (Don't worry I get a little treat also, one of the guy's girlfriend (Lindsay) escapes to our house for a little girl time!!) Mason's team that he created is the Rhinos! I believe they are 2-1. According to Lindsay, Mason isn't the only guy in the league that is excited about this once a week playgroup! Her boyfriend handles the standing charts, since he is the host! Well this week Mason made a shirt to represent his team. I just want you all to note that a LOT of time and effort was put into this project, and thankfully not a LOT of money!!:) I do think it turned out nicely.

Next topic: Although we live in a place without mountains, we do have some downhill skiing. According to Mason it is nothing like "the greatest snow on earth (Utah) " but it has some decent/short runs. Wednesday night the ski hill was holding a special for night skiing and even free equipment rentals. So Mason tried his feet at snowboarding, which he said later was actually pretty fun. Since he is almost a pro at skiing, snowboarding gave him a little challenge...and a broken collar bone! He was diagnosed by a professor at school, since he refuses to get a x-ray. So based on the special tests they know, mild swelling, and a funny bump I'd say it is a pretty solid/educated diagnoses. Since a doctor won't cast a collarbone but have you wear a sling for a few weeks, the argument of a x-ray is really over. Reluctantly he posed for this picture, after about 5 minutes of me demanding he put the sling on. Oh yeah, he only wears the sling when it really REALLY hurts, instead of all or most of the time. I do have some sympathy for him cause I'm sure this is going to slow him down a tiny bit.
Well that is Mason's update. I have to admit that I am thankful that even with his busy schedule he does remember to stop and have some fun. When you are are college I think that is what keeps a person sane!
