Allie's worst week

Allie's week started off normal, heading off to school Monday morning. This week was going to be fun. It was a short week with a costume party Wednesday in her class. I've been hearing about the party for a week and her excitment for showing her friends the costume Nana Kay made was exuberant! Allie was very grown up this Halloween planning and arranging her costume with Nana Kay without my assistance. Anyhow, Tuesday afternoon rolled around bring a fever and a sore throat. I tried a home remedy for the sore throat (which worked) but her fever spiked to 105.1 degrees. The doctor's office informed me that this is the swine flu and to expect 7-10 days of this horrific disease. Tuesday night was long as Mason and I kept her fever around 102 degrees. Wednesday morning Allie had the perfect horse voice for her costume and if it wasn't for the bark kind of cough I may have let her go to school since her fever was now nonexistent. She missed her party so now our efforts to make her better for Trick or Treating was our first priority. Wednesday night brought another mild fever, and Thursday morning she was 100% better never to see the fever return...I don't think she had swine flu thank goodness.

Friday night Mason took the girls to the gym for a chance to run since it was rainy all day. I choose to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet! 7:15pm Allie was carried through the door by Mason looking like the picture.

I don't know where the clumpsiness comes from but since my sister's and I seem to have the gene as well, Mason calls it the Hoffman problem. She was running, tripped over her own feet or clear air falling head first into a cement wall. I can easily talk to other people in these type of situations, but my kid causes me to loose my head. Although Mason already did a concussion test which came back normal, he listened to my insistent hystics and took her to the ER. She came back with a clean bill of health. In my defense, I was concerned more by the size.

In the end Trick or Treating is tonight and I believe we are all healthy enough to knock on a few doors.
