Mason says: "Let kids be kids!"

**Disclaimer: Photos were taken at dusk so the appear grainy because I had to lighten them with a program on my computer otherwise they would have been really dark. Well darker than they already are.**

It has finally been warm enough out for the snow to melt, thus causing puddles. Around dusk last night after taking Louie for a walk, Mason let the girls jump, splash and pretty much everything but roll through the puddles! The one in the picture is located on our sidewalk were it slopes down, and causes and very large puddle. When I joined them outside they weresoaking wet from the knees down. I told Mason he was a much better parent than me because I wouldn't let them do that...his comment back...Let kids be kids! Which is true and really puddles are fun when you are 3 and 2 years old. I was just thinking of the wet pants and socks. Good thing Mason makes me "chill out" sometimes!!

OK...I'm the same way! In fact, I even bug my kids to stay out of the water and puddles even after they're already wet just out of habit! Dave is like Mason, "let kids be kids". In fact Dave read your post with me and he confessed that a couple of years ago he ran through some puddles in Chicago that were up to his calves. He said "IT WAS SO FUN!!!"

Neal is the same way. Bo found one a few weeks ago and it was freezing out and I told Neal, it is just a few minutes and he was loving it. Neal did relax and enjoyed watching Bo discover the splash of a puddle.

husbands are good for that. Every once in awhile I realize I need to chillax a lot more than I usually do and let "kids be kids" --- those are usually the best times and memories so in the end it's worth it. At least once the wet clothes are washed and long since forgotten. The memories last forever.
Mason is a good dad. And you are a wonderful mom/parent to your two sweet girls!!!

It took me a while to discover that you have to let kids be kids, cause if you want them to behave like adults they're not much fun. I remember riding our bikes through puddles as a kid and the mess it makes on the back of you shirt never really comes out, but it was so much fun. I'd still like to do it.

I'll have to take note of this when Ryker gets older. To stay chill! Thanks for the help! As a side note... I can't get over big that puddle is.
