This is my Turkey. I made it almost all by myself. Really I just called Mason's Gram Audrey and followed her detailed instructions. It was very tastey. This is the first turkey that I have ever made. Now Stacy and Hannah will recall a Thanksgiving when we made a meal that was also very tastey. What I remember of that Day...I was in charge of setting the table, or maybe it was buying the pumpking pie from the store. I had nothing to do with the cooking. So when Mason asked me to make one this year, I secretly panicked. I know the love he has for his Grams meal and I knew that my first meal would definately not measure up. How do you even make a turkey? Do you have to cover it? The baking pan from the store didn't come with a cover and it doesn't say anything on it to add a cover. What do you set your oven at? How long will this take? Am I suppose to have one of those baster things...cause I don't. Audrey was wonderful and answered all my questions. Although the turkey was good and I would do it again, it just wasn't the same as Audrey's Thanksgiving meal. Now I can't be the only Lame one in this story....Mason wasn't even sure how to carve it. :)

Good job on the turkey!!! It's funny how we are about trying to do new things in the kitchen and then realizing that they're not so hard once we do it. I was that way about homemade bread. I was so afraid to try but once I did, I've never looked back. Keeping trying new things!
YAH! I am so PROUD of you. A pumpkin pie and now a TURKEY. You really are becoming more darind and domesticated. Just keep practicing the more you make a turkey the less scarey it gets and the more juicey and yummy they become.
I did find a recipe I love, and it is because you cover the turkey with cheese cloth and baste it with butter and freeze squeezed oranges several times while it is baking. anyway the more you baste the juicer it is.
Again I am so excited you decided to make it and it turned out.
